New Jersey Wedding Photography – The unique wedding of Lorna and Jerome

I don’t know where to start with this amazing wedding that I was lucky enough to photograph. Lorna came to me excited about my wedding photography and basically told me I was the one she wanted to photograph her wedding before we even met! Lorna explained her wedding was to have a masquerade theme which was going to include masks for guest (since it was right around Halloween) and would be taking place at an beautiful old theater in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Landmark Theater (or Loews Landmark Theater) has a majestic ballroom with endless possibilities for beautiful wedding photographs.

The wedding ceremony took place on stage and was lit just as if a play was happening for a Broadway show. The entire wedding from start to finish was one beautiful affair from Lorna’s vintage looking dress to Jerome’s debonair tux. I had so much fun photographing this wedding and I’m proud to share their beautiful wedding photos with you.

Louis Theroux – Photojournalism assignment for the BBC

In one of the more interesting, challenging assignments I’ve had was when I was asked to photograph BBC Documentary film maker Louis Theroux for the BBC.  Louis Theroux went into Philadelphia to make a documentary about the police department in one of Philadelphia’s roughest neighborhoods.

My assignment was to follow Theroux for a few hours into some of the neighborhoods he had been documenting on film.  The BBC wanted some stills for promotion such as this little piece here on the UK Telegraph.  Accompanied with some of the Philadelphia police we went to some of toughest streets and areas I’ve ever seen. I was a bit nervous even accompanied by these huge guys with guns.. it was intense, but great experience. I recently shot a second assignment for another documentary with him that I will post about eventually.

You can watch the entire documentary online here and check out some of my photographs below:

Springtime Wedding in New York – Michael and Nicole

I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely, lively, and fun couple than Michael and Nicole. I knew we were going to make some beautiful wedding photos together the first time we met and they booked me on the spot (always love when that happens!). Michael and Nicole had a small, intimate ceremony on the rooftop of their building, overlooking Manhattan and the Empire State Building. After their poetic vows to each other we headed out for some cool wedding pictures. The reception was at Moran’s in Chelsea, which was a beautiful venue for a wedding.. they did a really nice job with the food, service, and atmosphere. The band and the dancing was, well.. pretty intense. Everyone was tearing up the dance floor and several times wedding guests sang with the band and even played instruments with them a bit.. It was a great way to kick of my wedding season to say the least.. lots of fun and great photos..check em out:
