Castle On The Hudson Wedding – New York Weddings

What a beautiful venue this was to perfectly compliment this gorgeous bride.. Vanessa looked so lovely on her wedding day, just look at that smile. Micah is one lucky dude!

This was the first time I had the Groom take a photo of a bride for me 🙂 Check out the cool old medium format Mamiya I had Micah shoot a frame with on his bride (So Micah, the groom took the square photo of Vanessa underneath the photo of him holding the camera).. we had lots of fun with this wedding at Castle on the Hudson, located in Tarrytown, NY and although it transports you from New York City, its only like 30-40 minutes away which is really nice.. I love my New York City weddings but its always nice to see some more trees and greenery!

The ceremony took place there at the Castle and then we had the rest of the night for dinner, dancing, and lots of wedding photos! Thanks so much to Mo Tabesh who flew in from Canada to shoot a pair of amazing weddings with me this weekend.. he did a great job!

A few fun details:

– Micah got his suit custom tailored in Hong Kong.

– Vanessa’s dress came from The Bridal Garden, where proceeds from all purchases go to a charter school in Brooklyn. That’s pretty cool!

– They started their honeymoon in Paris and then took a roadtrip from Florence to Barcelona!

Enjoy.

Studio 450 Wedding, New York City

Alden and Caroline were recently married here in New York City, starting with a beautiful church wedding at St. Charles Borromeo church in Brooklyn heights. You gotta love the relative out front smoking a cigar before the ceremony..well at least I did he was cool enough to let me get up close with my fisheye for that shot.. Such a great looking church to compliment the lovely bride Caroline, and her soon to be husband Alden (who was really awesome to work with and very funny as you’ll see towards the end of the photos).

After the ceremony we took a stroll around Brooklyn Heights for a few quick photos then we were off to Studio 450 on the west side of Manhattan. I love photographing weddings at this space there’s a lot of character (if you ask nicely they let you use the old elevator lift for some photos) and the views outside during the cocktail hour are pretty awesome. From the hysterical wedding speeches (there were actual rehearsed skits!) to the fun Alden had with my photography umbrella, this was really great wedding.

I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
