Catskills, NY Wedding Photography – Full Moon Resort

I’m really excited to share one of the most fun weddings I had the honor of photographing at the Full Moon Resort for a wonderful couple named Eve and Josh. When I met with this engaged couple and found out I would have the chance to photograph a weekend long wedding in upstate New York, I was super excited. We started out with an engagement session in Brooklyn and after seeing how those photos came out I knew they were going to be perfect for my style of photography.

Everyone had such an amazing time at this wedding….from hysterically funny speeches to musical performances, and short films (this was a seriously talented group of people). There was a bbq rehearsal dinner, a gorgeous ceremony, and after parties every night. And all this before the really fabulous wedding reception. The food was delicious, the wedding tent was picture perfect and Eve looked simply stunning as you can see. Eve and Josh laughed and danced with everyone, and just showed the kind of emotion and spirit a photographer like me wants to see when capturing their special day.

Enjoy the photos..I know there’s a lot of them but I was there shooting almost 2 days and didn’t want to miss any of these special moments!

Brooklyn Engagement Session – A walk through Prospect Park

Marne and Josh met up with me a few weeks ago to take some amazing engagement pictures in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. I gotta start by saying how much fun it was to work with both of them, Marne was making me laugh the whole time…she has a great sense of humor (as is evidenced by one of her silly faces below). The weather was perfect for photos, we got some great diffused light as well as some late day sun (nothing beats that for photos). Their wedding is coming up in November at Temple Avodah in Oceanside, NY and if our engagement session is any indication of how the photos are going to look..I think it will be an awesome day.

John Leguizamo, Shake Shack, Edible Queens, and the New York Mets

When I got the call for this assignment I was excited to hear it was going to be my first magazine cover..and when I found out it would be with John Leguizamo I was even for into it, as I’ve always enjoyed him from his films to the HBO specials he’s done. The story was for Edible Queens, a NYC based food magazine where I’ve been doing a lot of photography recently. We went to Mets stadium and John ate some Shake Shack Burgers and some sushi for the story.

The shoot was great and John was a lot of fun to work with, and afterwards the Mets people treated us all to some Shake Shack burgers and fries, so how could you complain (its one of my favorite burgers in the world).

Then to top it off the in house photographer at the Mets asked me during my shoot if he could take a few shots of John, so the Mets would have some photos to use. I always try to be friendly to fellow photographers so I made sure he got a few good ones in. Afterwards he came up and thanked me and said, “Hey anytime you want to come to the stadium and sit down with the press photographers let me know and I’ll have you come in and take some shots.” How could I pass that up? So last week I made it to the Mets vs. Colorado game with Johan Santana (one of their ace pitchers) on the mound. It was an awesome game and I got a chance to try out a 300mm lens which was pretty cool (brings you close to the action). Now I just hope no one gets mad at me for saying I’m a Yankees fan

Brooklyn Engagement session – Eve and Josh

What an awesome, cute, fun couple Eve and Josh were and before I can post their amazing wedding that recently took place in The Catskills at Full Moon Resort, I wanted to share this engagement session. I had such a good time hanging out with Eve and Josh shooting their engagement photos that I knew the wedding was going to be a blast (and it was). We hung out in DUMBO and took a few shots with their puppy before heading out on our own. I got some creative shots and tried to emphasize some dramatic lighting with these, hope you enjoy. Brooklyn Engagement Photography – Alycia and Mark

If you ask me the reason why I got into wedding photography, one of the reasons I give is that I’ve always enjoyed making people happy. And when you get an excited phone call from a client just from doing their engagement session.. you know you’re doing something right.

It really made my day when my phone rang and it was Alycia on the other line thanking me for taking her engagement photos, and hearing how much she enjoyed them. I work hard to make my couples happy and it always feels good to hear those things from you guys.

I took Alycia and Mark around the Manhattan bridge and down by the Brooklyn Bridge and into the awesome new portions of Brooklyn Bridge Park that just opened. Check out some shots from the day:

Central Park Engagement Session – Lindsay and Teddy

Teddy and Lindsay will be celebrating their wedding in New Orleans in style but wanted to have their engagement session in New York City. One of the best places to have an e-session if you ask me is in Central Park and I know a few pretty cool locations where there aren’t thousands of tourists..so we hit up a few of those spots.
We had a great time walking through the park enjoying the late day light.. Lindsay was a natural in front of the camera as you’ll see. Enjoy!

A locally sourced Brooklyn Wedding – Katherine and Johnny

I’m really excited to share this recent wedding which had it all, everything you could ask for with a Perfect Brooklyn Wedding.

The Wedding Dress – Let’s start with that. Katherine’s wedding dress which was actually made by one of the Groomsmen, their friend and obviously talented tailor Bobby Frederick Tilley.

The Ceremony – The weather was beautiful and the rites were read in Brooklyn Bridge Park…. Katherine looked stunning in her dress with her flowers by local Brooklyn florist Opalia, Johnny dashing, and their puppy Lola didn’t look too shabby either with flowers round her neck.

The Reception – Might have been the best wedding food I’ve ever had? The always warm and inviting Frankies 457 was host to this amazing Brooklyn wedding, with perfectly set tables and expert waitstaff. There was dancing, heartfelt speeches, some fun props for photos, and local Brooklyn baker Betsy at Nine Cakes who made several scrumptious wedding cakes.

Long Island Wedding Photography – Erin and Paolo

When Erin and Paolo contacted me they sounded like a fun couple that I was looking forward to meet..when we met and I found out that Paolo was a comic book artist and would be creating a comic book for the wedding, and that Erin was a huge fan of slurpies and wanted to get one during the wedding and take some photos with it, I was sold on them and crossed my fingers that they would hire me to photograph their wedding.

I was thrilled when I got the call and told they were choosing me, and I think we managed to get some really fun and beautiful images on their special day. Paolo was a very cool guy and an amazing artist and Erin was so sweet and looked stunning on her wedding day. The day started with a lovely mass at St. Cecilia’s Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and then we headed to Jericho Terrace in Jericho, NY for the wedding reception. Jericho Terrace was really a lovely place for a wedding where everyone enjoyed the great food, service, and tons of dancing. I had an awesome time. Now for the photos!

New York City Wedding Photography – Roni and Wayne

I just had to post a lot of photos for this beautiful Jewish Wedding I shot a few weeks ago at the Midtown Loft and Terrace, one of New York Cities most amazing venues to get married at (in this wedding photographers opinion). It was such a fun event I wanted to focus on every detail from Roni’s beautiful smile, to the wonderful Ketubah, to the spirited dancing of the Hora (the last two are traditional Jewish Wedding ceremonial things). Besides the great wedding food and stunning Manhattan views we had the skilled DJ Gary Hoffman spinning tunes and Baked NYC making the most amazing wedding cakes and desserts. And a big thank you to my talented second photographer Jeff Wilson… it was pretty much a perfect wedding.

I was excited to share the photos after the wedding and when I got this email below from Roni today I wrote her back and said, “I’m going to post that with my blog” since it was basically an unprompted testimonial and made me so glad to have taken her photos. In Roni’s words,

“OMG!!!!! These are the most amazing photos ever…and I am not just saying that because I am in them. You did a fantastic job, I can’t believe that that was my wedding! Please let midtown loft use them on their website if they want. I can’t wait to put an album together. let me know what we need to do. You are the best photographer ever! It was a pleasure working with you. You were professional, prompt, and had a great eye for the perfect photos. You truly captured the wedding and what I wanted the wedding to be.”
