Leah and Greg were so fun, cute, and easygoing it was such a pleasure working with them at the New York Botanical Garden, one of my favorite New York venues to photograph a wedding. At one point in the night I had them sneak away from the dance floor for a few minutes to catch this image. Here’s to many more years of happiness for these two, cheers!
In the past year I’ve started to take my instagram work much more seriously. When I started to see friends of mine like @samhorine and @alicegao developing these huge instagram audiences and being flown around the world to photograph events and campaigns I was like…..DAMN! I gotta get in on this. At the time instagram for me was just shooting photos of my cat (which I still do of course!) and not really looking at it as an artform, or a way to grow my business. Since then though I’ve met some amazing people taking brilliant iPhone photos and posting them to instagram, and I’ve been pushing myself to create some quality images to post as well. I now try to post 1-2 images everyday.
At photo shoots I will often put down my professional camera, and take my iPhone out for a few photos whether I’m at a wedding, engagement session, or food shoot.
Here’s a few recent engagement images I’ve made this year with my iPhone, and posted to my account. You can follow my instagram @smoothdude
Recently Samsung asked me to test out their new NX300 and shoot some images with it. I’ve brought it with me to a couple weddings and food shoots to test out a few frames. So far I’ve really been enjoying the camera and wanted to share a couple images. I like the fact you can use a nikon mount so I’ve been able to use some of my nikon lenses with it. If you want a read a thorough review online there’s a good one HERE. I’ll be posting more in the upcoming weeks on my facebook account. Thanks!
I love photographing weddings at the 3 West Club in NYC and one of the reasons is because you have access to all of these great New York City landmarks within walking distance.. Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, and of course right across the street Rockefeller Center, which looks beautiful in the winter with the ice rink. Jenn and Ethan were so much fun to work with last weekend I can’t wait to go through the rest of the photos but wanted to share this one today.
What an amazing wedding this was that took place for Aram and Marnie at the City Winery in New York City a few weeks ago. This photo was on a rooftop of their hotel where Marnie got ready.. we had such a wonderful day can’t wait to share the rest with everyone but here’s a teaser for now.
