Stone Mill NY Botanical Gardens Wedding – Photo of the Day

I photographed a lovely wedding last month at the NY Botanical Gardens, at the Stone Mill. We were lucky enough to have great weather and an outdoor Jewish ceremony… such a fun day and I wanted to share this beautiful moment.

A beautiful Nigerian Wedding in New Rochelle, NY

The stunningly beautiful Ugo and dapper Philip were recently married at the Surf Club in New Rochelle, NY. Their ceremony took place in a nearby chapel and had some beautiful nooks for photos.. really lovely spot on the campus of the College of New Rochelle. Then we were off to the Surf Club for some lively speeches, and spirited dancing. Ugo and Philip are Nigerian and changed into some traditional African wedding outfits towards the end of the night, how awesome did they look in those clothes?! Also some of their relatives were dressed in these amazingly detailed, colorful outfits. Thank you to a flickr friend Mo Tabesh who flew in from Canada to photograph two weddings for me that weekend and Bonnie Burke who shot with us as well.. I think we caught some amazing moments from this special day enjoy them!

Metropolitan Building Wedding – A Jewish Wedding In New York City

Haley and Geoff got married at one of the more amazing wedding venues I’ve photographed at, the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City. Everything about this day was really wonderful.. from Geoff’s friend who shot 8mm footage to the perfect details of the cake toppers, Ketubah, wedding dress and grooms suit. You can see more of the details at the bottom of the blog post.

Haley works in fashion as a knitwear designer and Geoff is an award winning film editor and worked on the amazing documentary “The Cove’ which won the academy award for the best documentary (such a great film you should see it!). Haley is so creative and made or designed most of the little wedding details from the day of course using Etsy (quickly becoming the artsy wedding go-to supplier) for her purchases..

As for me I was just thrilled being able to photograph this wedding of this beautiful, creative couple at such a unique wedding venue. Thank you to my second photographer Adam Lerner for his help with the day. Enjoy the photos!

Bubby’s Wedding – A beautiful fall Brooklyn day

Tanya and Kevin had an amazing wedding earlier this fall at one of my favorite spots in the city, Bubby’s in Brooklyn. I love that area with the great cobble stone streets, gorgeous views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge and the skyline. Tanya was a wonderful bride and trusted my judgment and eye for setting up some of these beautiful wedding photos we got. They make a really great couple and I think their emotions for each other really come out in some of these photos.

It was a lot of fun walking around DUMBO with them capturing these moments and then heading into Bubby’s for some dinner, dancing, and of course when you’re at Bubby’s…. their delicious wedding pies instead of cake! Oh and they have a photo booth too for wedding guests which is always a lot of fun.

I shot a bit of Hasselblad medium format film at this wedding and am glad I did.. really got some cool stuff I hope you enjoy checking this awesome Brooklyn Wedding out!

Update –  I’m excited to say that a Wedding/bridal blog named Bustle and Flow just featured this wedding.. check out the link HERE.

The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers – A New York City Wedding

Carly and Rob were married last year in a beautiful setting.. It was a sunny, cool early March air that was perfect for walking around Washington Square Park and the Union Square area.

The ceremony and reception took place at the elegant Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, one of the exclusive properties of Abigail Kirsch. I’ve had the pleasure to photograph a handful of weddings in these venues including a few at Stage 6 (in the Brooklyn Navy Yard) and love every opportunity I’ve had there.

Carly and Rob both had beautiful smiles and the bride particularly felt so comfortable in front of the camera we got some really fun shots together. I also had the extremely talented wedding photographer Olivia Leigh fly in from Chicago to be my second photographer.

It was such a beautiful wedding, enjoy the photos!
